6 Essential Components Of Needed Infrastructure!
Recently, much attention, and debate, has occurred, about a potential legislation, aimed, at addressing, both, over – due, necessities, and deteriorating conditions, as well as well – considered, necessities, into the future! When Joe Biden, ran for President, one of his campaign promises, was, to address, American’s failing infrastructure, as well as bring America – Back – Stronger! Unfortunately, as, with, so many things, in Washington, D.C., partisan politics, often, interferes, with needed actions, in a timely manner! We have, already, experienced, some accidents, etc, because of faulty bridges, roads, etc, but, the reality is, over – time, these will get worse, unless, proactively, addressed, in a timely manner. The current, proposed, legislation, recently, passed, by the Senate, but, not yet, discussed, by the House of Representatives, was based, on a bipartisan group, of Senators (not, an easy task, these days). It only includes, current needs, without, what is probably needed, to ensure, future generations, inherit a nation, and planer, which is safe, clean, and meaningful. With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, 6 essential components, which must be, our highest priority!
1. Solid/ physical; roads, bridges, and tunnels; transportation: Our American infrastructure, is, in considerably, poorer shape, than many other, larger nations, around the world! Deteriorating roads, bridges, and tunnels, as well as an old, mass transportation, structure, in many regions, must be enhanced, and addressed, as soon as possible, before there is a catastrophe!
2. Utilities; water; power grid: Although, the cost of utilities, in this nation, continue to increase, we keep, seeing, issues, which, harm, the health, and well – being, of our citizens! In cities, such as, Flint, Michigan, and elsewhere, the water quality is extremely poor, and unhealthy, for many reasons, including, lead – pipes, pollutants, etc! Why, in our, so – called, modern world, do we still witness, so many issues, with the power grid, and its reliable delivery?
3. Environmental protection: From the 1960’s, until, 2017, American Presidents, from both parties, protected the environment, by enacting, protective legislation, to protect our environment, especially, clean air, and water!
4. Climate Change: Nearly, every, climate scientist and expert, agree, we must take measures, soon, to reverse, the dangerous, tendency, towards, the negative impacts of how these changes, might, make life, as we know it, far – worse! Recently, the United Nation’s council, on Climate issues, has emphasized, the planet’s average temperature, has been rising, at a greater rate, than anticipated. The impacts, regarding, tides, weather conditions, etc, must be addressed, and reversed, before it’s too late!
5. Health care, and prescriptions: Shouldn’t, quality, affordable health/ medical care, and the costs of prescription drugs, be a right, rather than, merely, a privilege, offered, to the financially, advantaged/ well – off! This must also consider, the costs of prescriptions, because, we pay the most for drugs, of any free nation, in the world!
6. Education: If, we are to regain, our position, as one of the most advanced, nations, we must ensure, quality, relevant, education, is available, broadly, and affordable!
We must stop avoiding, taking actions, which we should have taken, years ago! Wake up, America, and demand, better, and more!
