The Recruitment Process for NIS
The NIS takes in new people regularly. This process happens online at their website. To apply, here is what you do:
- Go to their website at this address: https://immigration.gov.ng/
- Click on vacancies.
- Pick one of the 3 job types that you are qualified for.
- To apply, you need to log in. If you don’t have an account yet, click on sign up.
- Put in your email address and a password.
- A mail will be sent to your email. Go to your email and verify the mail.
- Go back to the log in page and put in your email address and password.
- After logging in, you will go to a page where you fill in your personal information. This includes your name, birth date, where you’re from, your local government area, and your height in meters. Make sure all your data is correct.
- Click continue.
- Next, fill in your address and click continue.
- After this, you will need to give some form of ID. This can be a voters card, international passport, national ID card or drivers license. Pick one and fill in the ID number for the one you picked. Click continue.
- Now, you will need to fill in some information about your family. This includes the names, addresses, states, and local government areas for both your mom and your dad. If you have a spouse, you will need to fill in their details too.
- Click continue.
- Next, you will need to tell them if you have any medical conditions. If you do, fill in the details.

- Now, you will need to say if you have ever done anything criminal.
- Click continue.
- You will then fill in your education history. This depends on the job type you’re applying for.
- Click continue.
- Next, you will fill in your work history. You have to fill in at least one.

- You will also need to say if you have worked with the civil service before.

- Lastly, you need to say if you have worked with the military before.
